UPGRADED POWER MONITORING SOFTWARE FROM SQUARE D USES DATABASE TECHNOLOGY FOR EASY REPORTING
November 13, 2000
Newly upgraded power monitoring and control systems software from Square D provides centralized power management information in a quick-and-easy format. In facilities with critical power loads – data centers, hospitals, industrial facilities – System Manager Software Version 3.2 makes it easier to identify opportunities for energy savings by managing power and energy usage.
System Manager Software Version 3.2 utilizes a Microsoft SQL 7 database engine for vastly improved data handling abilities, including Wizard-based reporting functions. A new information manager was incorporated into the software to maximize ease-of-use. Reports can be quickly generated with an easy-to-use wizard that guides the user through the customization process.
“Facility managers can track past and present energy usage with the software to identify an even greater number of energy saving opportunities,” said Todd Seal, product manager at Square D. “In conjunction with the POWERLOGIC power monitoring system from Square D, real-time system data and user-defined alarms monitor current conditions on the power system, while historical information reports are generated from logged system quantities, making it easer to sort and analyze data.”
The software also supports waveform capture and analysis and other advanced features of the Series 4000 Circuit Monitor. SMS 3.2 also supports the Square D Micrologic type A and P trip units.
