POWERLOGICŪ ETHERNET GATEWAY
August 7, 2001

From a single building or a sprawling campus, to a multi-site enterprise, the POWERLOGIC® Ethernet Gateway (EGX) allows users to minimize communications wiring costs by using their existing Ethernet network infrastructure to deliver status, energy, and power quality information to the people who need it most.

Eight megabytes of memory allow the Ethernet gateway to store user-created HTML pages. Using a standard Web browser, users can efficiently view and access real time power system data and configure communication parameters.

The EGX uses open network architecture with the addition of MODBUS for RS-485 serial communications and MODBUS/TCP for the Ethernet. The EGX also adds a key communication and control gateway to the Schneider Electric Transparent Factory. Ethernet networking using MODBUS/TCP allows transparent access via Intranet/Internet.

The small footprint allows multiple mounting options and fits applications in office spaces or panel mounting, and is compliant to industrial environments with a temperatures range from -30° to 80°C.

The EGX has a wide range of expanded device connectivity. All POWERLOGIC and POWERLINK G3 devices can be connected, and the two RS-485 serial ports provide gateway functionality for up to 64 devices.
