Features of V321 firmware:
Firmware version 321 (v321) for the ION8600 meter adds support for a revision of the Communications Card shipped with meters after January, 2007: all available on-board communications ports are now supported with a single order option (RS232/RS485, RS485, Modem and Ethernet).
COM2 is now dedicated to the modem (previous firmware versions could have either modem or RS-485 functionality on this com port).
the second RS-485 port (if ordered) will now always be available on COM4.
On existing meters where the second RS-485 port is available on COM2, all COM2 settings should be automatically transferred over to COM4 during a firmware upgrade to v321. If this does not occur, contact Technical Support. Other enhancements include:
- logging of calibration events in the user event log has been added.
- a new front panel display setting named Delta Vector Display Type is available in the Display Setup menu. It can be set to Instrument (vectors appear 60 degrees apart - showing the actual voltage and current values that the meter instrument is seeing) or System (vectors appear 120 degrees apart - showing true system operation even though IB and VB are calculated values).
- meter clock has been updated with the new Daylight Savings Time (DST) settings for North America.
- a new 35S template supports voltage line-to-line squared hour losses calculation and logging. To support the new features in v321, download the latest version of ION Setup from the website.
