REACTIVAR™ ELECTRONIC SAG PROTECTOR (ESP) CORRECTS 92% OF POWER QUALITY EVENTS

The REACTIVAR™ Electronic Sag Protector (ESP) from Square D helps reduce downtime and equipment malfunctions by compensating for 92 percent of power quality events before they become costly problems. According to a study conducted by the Electric Power Research Institute, sags (50 percent of nominal) and momentary outages represent more than 92 percent of all power quality events.
The REACTIVAR ESP automatically compensates for voltage sags by either using energy from the utility line, or by using battery-free capacitive storage, for sags below 50 percent of nominal voltage.
Designed for industries where power quality is critical, such as microelectronics, pharmaceutical and food and beverage, the REACTIVAR ESP exceeds the microelectronics industry SEMI F47 voltage sag standard. EPRI PEAC Corporation, a leader in the power quality industry and SEMI F47 testing, has verified this product meets the SEMI F47 Standard.
The REACTIVAR ESP can be installed either on a spot basis to protect a particular load or circuit, or on a global basis to protect an entire distribution panel, motor control center or even an entire substation or facility.
It features a maximum response time of ¼ cycle and is able to compensate for a two second cumulative 50 percent voltage sag, or a three-cycle outage every minute. Twelve-cycle outage ride through is available as an option. The maintenance free ESP has no batteries, magnetics or coils.
With 99 percent electrical efficiency, the REACTIVAR ESP is a smaller, cost-competitive and environmentally friendly alternative to a UPS. Suitable for OEM tool
integration and retrofit applications, the ESP is available from 1.5kVA 120V single phase to 2MVA 480V three phase.
The REACTIVAR ESP is ideal for a wide range of applications. Installed in series with process equipment, the ESP provides sag and short duration outage voltage hold up. Outage voltage hold up can be increased with additional capacitive energy storage.
