SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC ANNOUNCES SQUARE D® POWERLOGIC® SCADA GRAPHICAL SOFTWARE FOR POWER MONITORING AND CONTROL SYSTEMS
January 28, 2009
Global power and control specialist Schneider Electric announced the release of Square D® Powerlogic® SCADA software version 7.1. This software was created to meet the needs of customers who require real-time monitoring and control of their electrical distribution system, including fast response times and high reliability through redundancy.
PowerLogic SCADA 7.1 software is powered by Citect® SCADA technology but is specifically designed for electrical power system applications. The complete PowerLogic supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) solution includes a dynamic graphical user interface, enhanced alarm management, one second response times for control operation and status, transparent redundancy, and reliable communications (through hardware components and network topology). The system also features Sequence of Events Recorder (SER) logs with time stamps of 1ms resolution.
PowerLogic SCADA 7.1 software includes a web-based client for remote viewing capability. The graphical user interface consists of animated objects which change according to status information. The flexible graphics editor includes both ANSI and IEC electrical symbols to facilitate easy one-line diagram creation. Real-time and historical trending is also supported.
Intended for customers with critical applications such as data centers, hospitals and continuous process plants, “The PowerLogic SCADA system enables higher efficiency for the operators in normal or critical situations by providing instant data intelligence for power distribution. The data intelligence manifests itself though alarming, control, and a powerful graphical interface,” said Phillip Barton, U.S. Business Development Manager. “In addition, the system’s millisecond accurate sequence of events information allows users to take quick corrective action at the branch circuits, auto transfer switches, generators, or other high-speed devices. The historical reports module provides for a detailed root cause analysis later.”
