Smart Energy Solutions for Farm Power
Schneider Electric, a global leader of energy saving solutions, announces its participation in the Farm Power project. Farm Power is a not-for-profit Washington corporation founded in 2004 for the express purpose of developing a farm-scale project to convert straw to energy. As part of a donation of services valued at $14,500, an engineering team from Schneider Electric was instrumental in developing the electrical system for the project, and will continue to be involved as the project is taken to commercialization.

The impact of rising energy prices is being felt in every corner office and boardroom. A recent Duke University study ranked high energy costs as the number one concern among U.S. executives – ahead of even healthcare costs and rising interest rates. Yet, remarkably, the same study revealed that only a minority of companies have made any attempt to improve the efficiency of their facilities.

Collect Electrical Data Activities Using Event Recorders

Today's electrical event recorders are data collecting devices that record electrical activities and retain memory of them even when power is off or lost. Smarter than those of just a few years ago, they provide data useful for monitoring power quality, which has long been a primary use, and for analyzing details of energy expenditure at various locations within a facility, which is a driving force in these times of high energy costs.
