How Are You Doing? Monitor energy to improve reliability and efficiency
As facility manager for Schneider Electric's Huntington and Peru, Ind., plants, John Troyer is a busy man. He knows energy efficiency is important and his bosses have put it high on their long list of priorities, but he can't devote a lot of time to monitoring and managing it. So he's glad that it usually takes less than a minute to open and review the e-mail message his system sends him each day, summarizing consumption and highlighting anomalies.

Audio Conference for Hospitals and Critical Care
April 27, 2010 1:30 - 3:00 PM (Eastern)
When the Lights Go Out: Managing Your Emergency Power Supply System, Streamlining Compliance and Lowering Costs

For healthcare facility managers, guarding against a power outage is not only a matter of improving patient safety but also one of reducing financial risk. Facilities already face enormous power demands, and these demands will intensify with the adoption of new, energy-hungry technologies, such as digital patient record keeping.

This audio conference will review Joint Commission requirements for Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS), and how this compliance can be better served with new automated technologies. Currently, testing and inspections are performed manually, which is time-consuming, labor-intensive, and prone to human error. Automated technologies improve system reliability, streamline compliance, and help identify problems before emergencies occur.
